Malaysia Airlines Flight 370: Al Qaeda Connected To Missing Plane?

Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 May 8, 2014

Malaysia Airlines flight 370 is still missing and without any real idea of where the plane is, concerns that it was hijacked have grown. According to Mail Online, eleven terrorists with links to Al Qaeda were recently arrested in Kuala Lumpur and the state of Kedah. Some believe that these terrorists might have had something to do with the disappearance of the Boeing 777 back on March 8.
Mail Online reports:
“The interrogations come after international investigators, including the FBI and MI6, asked for the militants, whose ages range from 22 to 55 and include students, odd-job workers, a young widow and business professionals, to be questioned intensively about Flight MH370.”
Malaysia Airlines flight 370 never made it to Beijing after disappearing from radar about an hour into the flight. The plane made a sharp turn west and Malaysian officials believe that the plane ended up somewhere in the vast Indian Ocean. Despite search and rescue efforts, no wreckage has been recovered. Since a hijacking is still a very real possibility, the recent arrests of Al Qaeda members are undoubtedly curious.

A report by Boston.com however, suggests that the arrests made were not linked to the missing plane. In fact, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said that there wasn’t even a connection despite what some outlets are reporting. He called the reports “rubbish.” Since the Malaysian government hasn’t been too forthcoming with information about the missing plane, you can easily understand why people will believe just about anything if it satisfies their thirst.

Malaysia Airlines flight 370 could have been hijacked by terrorists on the flight or by the pilots themselves and learning how and why has become a major part of the investigation. The idea that the plane was flown to another country to be re-fueled and “used” for something later on has surfaced, but considering the difficulty in pulling something like that off, the idea has been tucked away.

News that Al Qaeda members might have been instructed to pull off something catastrophic through Malaysia is definitely a new piece to this never-ending puzzle. Even still, no groups have taken responsibility for the plane’s disappearance, suggesting the terror group wasn’t involved. Will we ever know what happened to Flight MH370?

The disappearance of the Malaysia Airlines plane has caused understandable grief for friends and family members of the passengers and crew. As previously reported by Inquisitr.com,Malaysian officials have told family members to leave Kuala Lumpur and go back home as the search could take many months — or longer.
